What’s up Crush It Crew?
Who’s heard of Dalgona coffee? This hand beaten coffee is typically made with equal parts instant coffee and sugar. In hopes to make this one more macro friendly, I got in the kitchen & whipped (literally) up this protein packed coffee drink!
I simply swapped out the sugar for Frosted Vanilla Cupcake PRO. The whey and casein blend of PRO creates that perfect whipped texture and replaces the carbs from regular sugar with the same sweetness coming from protein. One drink gives you 26 grams of protein!
You could literally just eat the whipped coffee straight from the bowl, it’s that good. I’m also dreaming about topping my next oatmeal bowl with it!
If you’re limiting your caffeine intake this new year, swap regular instant coffee for decaf.
Prefer a hot coffee? That works too! I chose to serve this over iced milk, but hot tastes just as amazing!
As you can see, the options here literally are endless. Who needs Starbucks when you can make an even better and healthier option in the comfort of your own kitchen!
Tip: Use a hand mixer for the quickest results. You could beat by hand, or with a small electric whisk, but it’s going to likely take you double or even triple the time (although you’ll get a nice little arm workout to go along with it). Mix on high and keep mixing until you get that fluffy whipped texture. You’re going to think it’s not going to work the first minute or two, but keep going and watch the magic happen!
A quick run-down of the ingredients:
Frosted Vanilla Cupcake PRO: Frosted Vanilla Cupcake makes for an amazing vanilla coffee flavor. Feel free to use your favorite PRO flavor to switch things up.
Instant coffee: any basic instant coffee will do. Both regular and decaf will work.
Water: Make sure your water is boiling hot. This will ensure your instant coffee granules and protein fully dissolve immediately.
Milk: Use any milk you’d like. I chose an unsweetened cashew milk. Keep in mind macros will vary based on your milk used.
Sweetener: Add as much or little to meet your desired sweetness.
Whipped Iced Protein Latte Recipe:
- 2 Tbsp instant coffee
- 1 scoop (33g) Frosted Vanilla Cupcake PRO
- 2 Tbsp hot water
- 8 oz milk of choice
- Sweetener to taste
- Add instant coffee granules, 2 tbsp of PRO and 2 tbsp of boiling water to a mixing bowl.
- Mix using a hand mixer on high for approximately 3-4 minutes. Scrape the sides if needed and keep mixing until you’ve achieved a thick whipped texture.
- Add remaining PRO and choice of milk into a shaker cup and shake well.
- Pour over ice in your favorite glass.
- Top with whipped coffee.
- Stir with a spoon or straw and enjoy!
