CRUSH IT! CAFÉ: MUSCLE MOUNDS

A close second behind peanut butter and chocolate for best sweet combinations has to be coconut and chocolate! Most coconut and chocolate candy bars, however, tend to be filled with added sugars and preservatives. Being the health conscious people we are, we prefer to make our own versions right at home, and control exactly what goes into the treats we’re eating. Since our goal is to put on mounds of muscle, it only made sense to make a treat that would help us do just that!

Ingredients

Coating:

  • 1 scoop Chocolate Delight Core PRO
  • 56g chocolate chips
  • 1/4th cup skim milk

Filling:

  • 3 cups (240g) shredded coconut
  • 2 scoops Vanilla Cream Core PRO
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup skim milk

Directions

Begin preparing the filling by combining the Core PRO, shredded coconut, salt and skim milk into a casserole dish or large bowl, and mixing very well by hand or with a hand mixer. Then, place wax paper onto a separate casserole dish and form miniature bars by hand before placing onto the wax paper. Cover the dish and allow to cool for approximately 2 hours. Once cooled, prepare the coating by adding the chocolate chips and skim milk into a small pot on low heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate has just melted, then add the Core PRO while continuing to mix.

Once completed, remove the coconut bars from the fridge and cover with the still warm chocolate coating. Place back into the fridge to allow bars to set before enjoying!
